Patient Testimonials

  • Dr. Ross Wodicka is a great orthopedic surgeon. Here is my experience with him. My injuries were two partial (25-40%) rotator cuff tears, a SLAP tear (an injury to the ring of cartilage that surrounds the socket of the shoulder joint) , and bone spurs. I was pleased to learn that instead of having the usual suture and anchor repairs of the rotator cuffs, I could instead have the relatively new “Regeneten patch” procedure. Not everyone is a candidate for this procedure but you should certainly ask about it. This is a more natural and lower cost approach where after the damaged part of the rotator cuff is scraped away, a small piece of collagen from a cow is internally stapled to the rotator cuff. That collagen then integrates into your own body’s collagen over the next few months to provide rotator cuff healing. The patch procedure has a much faster recovery time, much less pain med needs, less time sleeping reclined, faster start of physical therapy, and faster return to normal activities. Although likely not recommended, I was driving one handled a week later, and soon after was getting around to and carefully doing other activities at other places. Doctor Wodicka and his staff also thoroughly explained things before and after surgery and guided me to a very good physical therapy place near me (Barwis). I highly recommend going to Dr. Wodicka if you have similar needs.

  • Dr. Wodicka really did change my life after my surgery. For years I was scared to get knee surgery, and figured I would be fine without it, for years I lied to my self-saying I was fine and progressively stopped doing all the physical activities I used to do and felt like defined me. I lost since of who I was and at every turn my knee would just get progressively worst. When the pandemic hit, for most it was their worst nightmare, but for me it finally gave me an opportunity to take time off from school and address this issue. When I finally went to get it checked the situation was worst then I expected, and it turned out I had not only torn my ACL, but my medial meniscus ruptured after an accident and was stuck underneath my kneecap which caused it to be extremely unstable. I was scared and thought even after surgery I would never be able to go back to the active lifestyle, I once lived now gaining almost 100 pounds since the initial incident that tore my ACL. I looked for surgeons for weeks, and then I came across Dr. Wodicka. From the first consultation he made me feel extremely secure about his skills and made me feel comforted at the time I had felt the most vulnerable and secure. Their staff also, was some of the most amazing people and helpful I had ever met. When the day pf the surgery came, Dr Wodicka came into the room to see me before just to make sure I was completely comfortable, and that really elevated any doubts or concerns I previously had. The surgery went perfectly well, even right after the surgery I was able to go use the bathroom on crutches. Throughout the entire recovery process, him and his team were constantly checking up on me, making sure I was in physical therapy and just really showing me, they still cared and addressed any questions and concerns even after the actual job of my surgery was done which they really did not have to but ill be forever grateful they did. My surgery was back on October 21, 2020, and since than I have been able to go snowboarding in Colorado, hiking throughout Florida and California, and currently I am rock climbing 3-5 times a week. There really is no words I can say that can round out exactly how grateful I am to Dr. Wodicka, he truly gave me my life back in a way that I truly thought was never going to be possible again. I am only twenty-five, and I thought my active life might essentially be over, but that has been everything but true after this surgery. From experience if you want a surgeon that not only can complete a surgery with cold robotic precision but at the same time have the empathy and charisma to comfort you through the entire process, with a staff as warm as the summers sun, there is no better place to go than Dr. Wodicka’s office.

  • I thought it would be fun to crash my car and break my shoulder in about 6 pieces. I went and saw dr. Wodicka because my mother knew one of his nurses. Wait time was great was only there about six minutes before I was called back dr. Woodika was thorough, took his time and gave me his opinion. His nursing staff was spectacular and helped me through every step of the process. I'm out of surgery the past 5 days and I am sore but I know the surgery was done by a competent doctor and with rehab it will mend.

  • I had such a great experience with Dr Wodicka and his staff. Believe it or not, but at age 66 I had never had surgery. Obviously I had my concerns. I had rotator cuff surgery. I put my trust in the Dr. and staff and had a great, if not better experience, than I had hoped for. Dr Wodicka was great and my physical therapy has pushed me further than I thought I would be at this time. I really can’t say enough about Dr Wodicka. • Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Dr. Wodika, his staff and the Holy Cross Outpatient Sugery Center we're all very professional and compotent. The surgical outcome of my knee orthoscopy was beyond expectations. 48 hours after the surgery, I was able to gently walk on the repaired knee. 8 days after the procedure, I have no pain in my knee and I am able to walk normally. If you are living with a Meniscus tear, don't hesitate to get it repaired.

  • So this is 23 days after surgery where my shoulder was fractured in 6 pieces and the " ice cream came off the snow cone" which is the best way to describe what happened. I am pushing myself as hard a s humanly possible and doing all the therapy. I have movement and strength. Dr Woodika and his staff I give ALOT of the credit too. Great surgery, bedside manor, facility, Sue and Lisa in staff....could go on and on about what a job he did. My wife is a surgeon and even she commented on what a great experience this was and what great doctor he is. Dont pick someone who has been doing this for 100 years and assume that is going to make them a great doctor. He may be young but I believe (and my shoulder can tell) he is one of the best.

  • Dr. Wodicka is top-notch, and I am beyond grateful to have him as my doctor. A few days following a tough fall (I broke my shoulder & my wrist upon slipping on water on my marble kitchen floor), I had two doctor's appointments back-to back the same day. After reviewing the x-rays and scans taken in the ER, the first surgeon informed me I needed shoulder surgery. Dr. Wodicka, however, said I would heal nicely under his care and with physical therapy. He believed surgery would be wrong in my case, and he was 100% right. Happy to report that 6 months later, my shoulder ROM is 90%+ and counting, and most importantly, I am pain free and did not have to endure surgery! God Bless Dr. Wodicka and the O/T and P/T staff at Holy Cross! Everyone was highly skilled, professional and kind, and I cannot say enough about each and every staff member. Thank you, Dr Wodicka, and to all at Holy Cross Hospital. I simply won't go anywhere else. They are, hands down, the best in South Florida.

Dr. Wodicka performed surgery on my knee and an experimental procedure on my shoulder and the results have been amazing. In performing my knee surgery Dr. Wodicka notice the looseness in my joints well beyond normal and subsequently clinically diagnosed me with EDS, later supported by a geneticist. This ultimately explain all the joint problems I have been unable to explain for the past 30 years.
